I took the last of the 3 uppers about 2 hours ago. Soon afterward, I was on a treadmill for a one-hour 10K. Not real fast, but it was nice to go long (long for me, anyway). The normal mental fatigue that sets in after 20 or 30 minutes wasn't there, and I felt pretty much the same at 60 min as I did at 20. My calves are a little sore, and I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow, but I enjoyed the run.
While I was on the treadmill, they had a second mail call. A second box was waiting for me in the ready room after my run, another one from my parents and sister. More candy, some Nilla Wafers and frosting (an old favorite years ago), and some Play Dough! I'm not sure what I'll do with the playdough, but I can be creative. That's the whole point, right? The nice thing is, in light of my comments earlier about the debate to open the box in public or not, things like playdough are easily passed off as "from the many small children in my life". I can feign slight embarassment and not let on that I'm looking forward to breaking it out back in my room and having fun making little helicopters and tanks. There are plenty of folks out here who would probably have fun doing the same thing.
There are many sailors walking around the ship with big smiles today, Priority Mail boxes tucked under their arms. Some of us are smiling for multiple reasons.
