We're there.

Check out this press release for the latest on what's up and where we are. Today I was on watch and it was pretty busy as we get things set for working in this new environment. It's good to be done with the transit, to be on station. We're done with training and sustaining. Now it's time to operate. The focus has definitely shifted in the ready rooms. Even still, life goes on and we continue to make time to work out, to grab chow, to sit in the ready room and find things to complain about (there's a saying in the navy that Sailors aren't truly happy unless they're complaining about something). Speaking of working out, I've been delinquent lately, so I think I'm going to head down for a night jog tonight. I've been reading a book I borrowed about using my new heart rate monitor to optimize my workouts. I'll see if I can apply a little of what I'm learning. Not much else to write about tonight. Standing the watch kind of sucks up my day and the details of talking on the phone, and the radio just aren't that interesting (nor can I really go into the details!). I'm now 12 hours ahead of San Diego time, so as I write this at just before 9 at night, it's strange to think of Janell and the girls just staring their school day right now. At least it's the same day for both of us for another couple hours.

obtw, compare the bow-on picture in the press release and the picture in the margin on this site. That picture was taken during one of my flights (the photo-ex we did a few days ago).

Glad the ship made it safe and sound. Good luck with your duties! I will continue praying for you and your crew!

That was a quick transit. Too bad there were not stops along the way. Maybe you can have some R&R on the way home in a few months. I'm sure Jebel Ali is calling your name.

Stay safe and keep your head on a swivel.

I'm currently on travel and have computer access in VA Beach, but will not have any next week. I'll have to catch up when I get home.

Take care,
