Last night, just before I was about to go to bed, just after midnight, the ship called away a man overboard. Two of the lookouts saw a strobe in the water. When a man overboard is called, everyone on the ship must get up and quickly go to their workspace to "muster" or be accounted for. After about 20 minutes, everyone was found to be on board, thankfully. Part of the response for a man overboard, of course, is to be ready to rescue the survivor. That's why we have an Alert 30 crew ready to go around the clock. So our A30 crew was manning the helicopter during the muster, and actually launched to go look for the strobe. They never found anything. Who knows what it was.
After the excitement was over, I finally got to bed around 2am. Then tossed and turned until sometime between 5 and 6. Hopefully the rocking of the ship will help me sleep a little better tonight. The seas have definitely picked up and many of the younger guys are looking a little green. It's so nice to be out in the open ocean again, heading in the right direction.
Lots of paperwork tonight. More tomorrow. In the morning all of the Academy grads on board will take a picture together and send it in to Shipmate, our Alumni magazine. That will be the earliest I've gotten up in a long time! And the picture isn't until 9:30.

Let's hope there's no "Nana Overboard" in August.
When Nana is on board, you should set an Alert 5 just in case.
I love it when the ship gets to rocking. I ALWAYS sleep much better.
At this point in cruise, the open ocean looks great.
Sleep good!

I'm so glad you are heading the right way!!! The girls and I are so eager to be a complete family again.
You are loved!

Less than 55 days to go?! That's awesome. i know your family is BEYOND ready!!! How's that study on James going? It's Jen's favorite book of the Bible; I like it considerably more than Martin Luther did. It's been a long time since I've preached through a whole book, so we'll see how it goes.

Scott:
It's your second cousin-in-law twice removed from who knows where...
Jon (Ulrich)....I just my mom signed up for your Blog, and she thanks you so very much for inviting her into your space (of course, now I will teach her how to get safely in and out...).
Question (and glad that you are doing well!): Is there an easy way to print off your stories for my mom? Alternately, can you download the files and e-mail them to her?
You can (hopefully) e-mail me at HSigma@cox.net. Thanks
Well, hope all continues to be fine with you, and, of course, teh whole Stringer Zoo!
Second cousin three times removed from your wife's side...
Jon
Scott,
DW and I were wondering if you plan on shaving in the next week or so? I would not be able to keep the 'stache.
Take care,
Rich
So, how's that study in James going?
