R&R, once again

I only have 11 minutes left on my internet time in the room (no free internet this time), so this will be quick, but I'm sitting in the Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa in ... yes, you guessed it, Dubai, UAE. Like I've said before, it's the liberty stop of choice for carriers in the 5th Fleet AOR. So here we are on day 5 of a liberty marathon. We'll be back at sea soon, though. I've played tennis every morning in 110 degree heat. I actually bought a new racket two days ago. I've enjoyed the pool, done a little shopping for Janell and the girls in the local Souk's, including the spice Souk and the gold Souk. OK, 6 minutes left. I'm hoping to get back into more regular writing when we get back to sea. This break has been a nice chance to recover and relax. No 80's music this time, though. I know I still owe you stories from the last port visit. May was a tough month. Maybe I can cover that some time while we're heading home. Maybe not. I'm joining some guys for dinner downstairs in about five minutes. We're going to hit the hotel's steak house tonight. Italian last night. Trader Vic's the night before. Thai before that. It's easy to get spoiled in port. OK, only 3 minutes left. I'd better wrap this up before I get cut off. I'll write again from the boat. I'll sure miss this high speed connection. Like I said, it's easy to get spoiled. On that note, I'm off to go find a ribeye or maybe a strip.

Glad you got some R&R and have had your head above water for a few days. I've been thinking of you. Hang in there.

Good to hear from you. How was that steak? I am a filet mignon girl myself.

You and the rest of the zoo are in our prayers.

Remember you are running a marathon, not a sprint. You can finish strong, I have full confidence in all of you.

Glad to see you got some time off. I've been wondering when you guys would have another port visit. The problem I had was, how many times can you see the same port on the same cruise? Enjoy every minute you get.

We take the camper out this weekend for the maiden trip. We are forecast for T-Storms, but this time of year is always like this. We will get pictures on the BLOG hopefully as the weekend goes along.

Hannah got out her calendar last night and realized that your birthday is coming up...she wrote a note and taped it to our front door so that I would not forget to buy you a present. SO cute, but really, come on, would I EVER forget something like that? :)

I had to do a double read on that last sentence. I first read "I'm off to go find a ribeye or maybe I'll strip." He he he. Glad you are getting a break and some good food. Miss you!

Steak and Tennis. Sounds like a great combination for getting the batteries recharged. Great comment Charlotte.
