It doesn't take long

Remember my post a while back about the science experiments that were done by putting people into caves and limiting their exposure to light? Their body clocks became disoriented and their perception of time became warped. Tonight as we were about to get dinner, Katelynn asked me if we were having lunch or dinner. She honestly didn't know. A few minutes later, Nana asked me what day it was. Yup. They're in the Navy now. And it's only been 3 days!

When we talked about the fact that we were half way home already, Katelynn was actually disappointed. I think she's enjoying the unlimited supply of Dog! Rich, I leave it to your comments to explain that one.

Today, we watched the air power demonstration on the flight deck. Some low clouds caused a few alterations to the intended events, but overall it was very impressive and very LOUD. The ladies visited the ship's bakery and Katelynn made friends with the Baker. She decorated five cupcakes and brought half a dozen back to the ready room to share! Needless to say, she's now a favorite Tiger of all Eightballers.

This afternoon, they toured the Combat Direction Center, and I took them on a tour of Air Operations and Strike Operations. Once again, Katelynn did a great job navigating around the ship. I think they only got lost twice today. But they definitely got out and explored quite a bit. Unfortunately, I've stayed pretty busy, getting the squadron ready to arrive at home and fly off safely. We still have a flight schedule to put together every day as well. Eventually, I'll need to pack my stuff up, too! Only 2 days and a wake up.

That is so AWESOME! I'm glad they are have a good time.

Even when I go out now, the only day you really know is Sunday because they have brunch. Other than that, they are ALL the same.

As for dog, I won't go into the details of the name, but it is a staple of the wardroom. We have our own "dog" machine at work. Every few weeks, there will be a special occasion that will require "dog" to be made.

1 and a W/U!!!!!

I can almost hear the excitement reading your post. One time I packed TOO soon, and didn't think we would EVER pull in. I hated the last few hours. At least, you have Katelynn and Nana to help occupy you (tell them we said HELLO).

Whenever R gets good dog at work or on the ship, I always hear about it in extreme detail. He never brings me any or calls me to join him.

I'm so glad this is nearly over for you and everyone aboard! Wish we could be at the party. We are looking forward to the reunion photos!

Hi Nana & Katelynn!

OK, I still don't know what a "dog" is! Explain, please!
Stop having fun Katelynn, I'm jealous! :)

"DOG" is soft serve ice cream. Imagine what it looks like coming out of the machine.

In the words of Scott: Nuff said.

Thanks, J, and, Rich, for the explanation of "Dog." Now, of course, I have too much information. But, it should help my diet!

Katelynn asked why it was called dog, but fortunately, no one explained. She just continued to enjoy. It was really good on the gooey chocolate brownies and slices of white cake, which got a little dry waiting for customers. So much for diets. At least we did not eat the bag of peanut butter M&M's that we had purchased in Honolulu. They made it home to the Stringer Zoo freezer. Janell can explain.

Dog. That made me laugh out loud. We had that at PCC, but never thought of it that way.
